Pakistan Sales Tax (GST) Rates
Sources and methodology for the federal and provincial sales tax rates used by the sales tax calculator.
What this calculator uses
Sales tax in Pakistan is split by what is being sold:
- Goods are taxed by the federal government (FBR) at a standard rate of 18%.
- Services are taxed by the provinces, so the rate depends on where the service is supplied.
Standard rates
| Supply | Authority | Standard rate |
|---|---|---|
| Goods (federal) | FBR | 18% |
| Services — Punjab | PRA | 16% |
| Services — Sindh | SRB | 15% |
| Services — Khyber Pakhtunkhwa | KPRA | 15% |
| Services — Balochistan | BRA | 15% |
| Services — Islamabad (ICT) | FBR | 15% |
Assumptions & limitations
- These are standard rates. Many goods and services have reduced rates, exemptions, or special regimes that this calculator does not model.
- Always check the specific rate for your good or service with the relevant federal or provincial revenue authority.
Verify before you rely on it
Provincial finance acts can change service rates each year. Confirm the current rate with the relevant authority (FBR, PRA, SRB, KPRA, BRA) before relying on a figure.
