Protein-to-Creatinine Ratio Calculator

Formula

PCR = Urine Protein (mg/dL) ÷ Urine Creatinine (mg/dL)
  • Normal PCR: < 0.2 g/g (< 22 mg/mmol)
  • Abnormal: 0.2-1.0 g/g (mild to moderate proteinuria)
  • Heavy: > 1.0 g/g (nephrotic range)
  • Used to diagnose and monitor diabetic nephropathy, glomerulonephritis
  • PCR is more reliable than single spot urine protein measurements
