Leaves = (Crown Area × LAI × 144) ÷ Leaf Area (sq in)

  • Average leaf area assumed to be ~10 sq in (roughly palm-sized).
  • Crown projected area = π × r²; r = crown diameter ÷ 2.
  • This is an estimate — actual counts vary greatly by species.
