Formula
FCR = Total Feed Consumed ÷ Weight Gained
- Lower FCR is better — it means less feed is needed per unit of growth.
- Poultry (broilers) typically FCR 1.8–2.0; pigs 2.5–3.5; cattle 6–10.
- Use the same units for feed and weight gain (both lbs or both kg).
